1.0 out of 5 stars COMBUSTABLE TEAPOT!!!, January 31, 2010

About a year ago I bought your orange tea pot. Yesterday I was making a pot of tea and went to use the restroom. When I came back to the kitchen, my tea pot was on fire. After I put out the flames, i opened the tea pot to see that it still was full of water. The paint itself had set on fire. The tea pot was cheap and I guess you get what you pay for. I was lucky my kitchen didn't set on fire. Thankfully nothing was harmed but the tea pot. Selling these items is both dangerous and irresponsible. Feel free to contact me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cute and large enough, August 2, 2009

I bought one of these for the cottage, because I didn't want to spend much, wanted a splash of color, and didn't need a large kettle at camp. I love it and plan get one for home as well to replace my aging kettle. (I really admire the classic teapot shape of this. Very nice! The larger size in this line is humdrum in comparison.)

I assumed this would be too small for me, but I boil water (daily) to make either tea or French press coffee. Obviously, this is large enough for the tea (including tea for two or three)... the pleasant surprise is that it's large enough for the French press as well (a 35-oz Frieling). Well, of course because a quart is 32 oz, but I just didn't do the math before and thought this kettle would be "too small". Now instead I'm wondering why did I ever think I needed a larger kettle?

Yes, there is no whistle. But with the smaller size, maybe you'll put less water in it and won't feel the need to walk away. (This seems to be true for me... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars DON'T BUY THIS TEA KETTLE, December 24, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This tea kettle was highly disappointing, and, for me, unusable. Granted it's "cute". But, besides not being dish-washer safe, it contains the warning not to leave water resting in it, or it may rust. For the purpose of anyone who wants to have warm water immediately available for boiling, this is unacceptable. Also, the spout had exposed steel, and seemed extremely liable to rusting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I wanted!, October 1, 2011

I was so sick of wanting a new tea kettle and going to any store and not finding one for less than $20-$30. Then it would be so cheap that it doesn't even have a proper push button or trigger to open the spout. If you want to get a semi decent kettle, you're looking at $40 or more, I mean, I just want to sometimes boil water!

This is just like the kettles that were prevalent before everybody had to have designer colors and fancy shapes, it's probably a little lower gauge than what I remember, but the whistle works (loudly) and it is cheap!

Pros:
$9.88!
Push button works great.
Whistle works great.
Fill through the nozzle, pour through the nozzle, no silly "filling" cap like on most other kettles.

Cons:
Metal is a little thin.

5.0 out of 5 stars What I was looking for., November 8, 2011

After using the kettles with removable lids, I wanted a one piece tea kettle. This one is perfect for me. The whistle is easy to hear, it is light weight and and exactly what I wanted. I am very pleased with this purchase.

1.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for..., March 8, 2012

I never knew you could actually make a dysfunctional tea kettle. Seems so easy, right? This piece of junk should come with warnings that say: "Do not fill more than half full or your water - when boiled - will spew out all over your stove and anything in a 6-9" radius." Warning should also include: "Water does not POUR out of spout as much as slop everywhere in a random direction."
I used this for a week and gave up entirely eventually ordering an electric kettle with a proper spout to enable pouring.
It's a train wreck.
