The problem is when the water is actually boiling. The handle is made of cheap plastic so when the water is boiling the handle gets really hot as well. Also the handle is too close to the metal part of the kettle. Because of this I have burned my hand. Another defect is that it doesn't whistle if you put a lot of water in it. At first I liked it a lot, I've used it almost everyday for the last three weeks. The lip on the bottom makes it too awkward to use on my large burner, but it fits nicely on the small burner. Well today I used the kettle and when I went to pour it boiling water dribbled all over the floor and counter. It appears the seal on the spout has gone bad after only a few weeks of use. Save your money, don't bother with this piece of junk. |
