It can rust if water is left in it, and it shouldn't be stored on the stove while other cooking is going on since the enamel can rust. It is very good looking and the whistle is nice and loud. However after only 2 months of limited use I noticed the enamel on the bottom edge was chipped in a couple of places. It sits on my stove and is used only a couple of times a week. I can't understand how it was chipped by being filed with water or placed on a stove. Not banged. The enamel is not a good choice, I will go back to all metal.
